Disneyland will debut a new “it’s a small world” verse alongside a tribute to the Sherman Brothers for the resort’s 70th anniversary this summer.

Inside the Main Street Cinema, guests will get to see the story and impact of the famous songwriting duo, the Sherman brothers. As part of this tribute, a three-and-a-half-minute film titled “The Last Verse” will be shown, which celebrates the Sherman brothers’ song, “It’s a Small World.”

Created for the song’s 60th anniversary, the film unveils a new verse written by composer Richard M. Sherman in his final Disney contribution:

“Mother earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand in hand
It’s a small world after all.”

Disney initially released “The Last Verse” short film in November 2024 and it can be watched below.

Disney Legend Richard M. Sherman passed away on May 25, 2024. With his brother Robert B. Sherman (who passed away in 2012) composed music and lyrics for several theme park attractions around the world, including “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” for Carousel of Progress at the 1964 World’s Fair, “The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room” for the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland Park, and, of course, “It’s a Small World,” also for the 1964 World’s Fair.

In the 1970s, the pair wrote a second tune for Carousel of Progress, titled “The Best Time of Your Life.” In the early 1980s, they contributed songs for EPCOT Center and Tokyo Disneyland, which included “One Little Spark” for Journey Into Imagination, and “Meet the World” for the attraction at Tokyo Disneyland.

Disneyland will be premiering this third and final verse in the “it’s a small world” attraction at Disneyland, beginning July 17. Alongside this will be new artifacts, an animatronics exhibit, and more debuting at Main Street Opera House. In addition, Disneyland has also confirmed that the upcoming Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic show, “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” has been delayed and will now open on July 17.
