Disney has released the first official trailer for the upcoming sequel film, Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Avatar: Fire and Ash Official Trailer Released

The third film in the Avatar franchise will debut a new clan of Pandorans, the Ash People. Avatar: Fire and Ash will release exclusively in theaters worldwide in IMAX 3D, Dolby Cinema 3D, RealD 3D, Cinemark XD, 4DX, ScreenX, and premium screens on December 19, 2025.
James Cameron returns to direct the adventure film, with the cast including Sam Worthington as Jake Sully and Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri, alongside Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, and Kate Winslet. David Thewlis and Michelle Yeoh have also joined the cast.
The trailer features Jake Sully’s family and the Metkayina clan from Avatar: The Way of Water joining together to fight against Varang (Chaplin) and her forces, who have allied themselves with Quaritch (Lang). Varang seems to be able to control fire, burning down parts of Pandora’s forest.
The film is written by Cameron, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver, with its story by Cameron, Jaffa, Silver, Josh Friedman, and Shane Salerno. According to Variety, “The Way of Water” and “Fire and Ash” were originally conceptualized as one film, but Cameron split them into two once writing began. Cameron also said that this film will be longer than the previous two, citing that the writing team had “too many great ideas.“
