Kermit the Frog will be featured on Visit Mississippi’s 2026 Tournament of Roses parade float.
Tournament of Roses Parade
For the second year in a row, the state of Mississippi will take part in the Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2026. “Mississippi: Where Creativity Blooms” is the theme for this year’s float, which will feature a tribute to the state’s artists.
Visit Mississippi executive director Rochelle Hicks says,
We’re thrilled to showcase Mississippi’s creative heartbeat on a global stage. This float is more than a celebration – it’s a tribute to the artists, musicians, and storytellers who continue to inspire generations.

Kermit the Frog will be the centerpiece for the float. Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets, was a native of Mississippi. In the concept art, Kermit is holding a guitar as a pile of books written by Mississippi authors and art supplies are piled up behind him. It’s been confirmed that Charlie Worsham will perform live on the float, joined by dancers.
If you’re looking to check out some Muppets memorabilia, head to Birthplace of the Frog. And, be on the lookout for a retheme of Rock n Roller Coaster, which will feature the Muppets, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
