Howdy! Today was a lot of fun. I started my day in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where I was met with a lot of construction and refurbishments. I ended my day in Disney Springs with a surprise performance by our favorite Piano Rob on the roaming piano.

Good Morning from Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Good morning from a beautiful start in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The crowds are dying down from the summertime, and the weather is ever so slowly beginning to cool down. I love this time of year, minus the threat of potential hurricanes; it really is a nice time to be in central Florida.

Dinoland Destruction

A collage shows Disney's Animal Kingdom dinosaur ride construction and themed merchandise in a gift shop.

This morning, I saw that crews are wasting no time in removing pieces of the Boneyard that just closed last week. I was happy to see that the signs remain, at least for today. Tomorrow is not as certain, with how quickly the crews are moving.

I am happy to report that the DINOSAUR closing shirts have been restocked yet again. No sign of the magnets or pins yet, though. Besides, why would you want that shirt when you can get our shirt on CarouselofProducts.com?

Daddy Tiger Playing in the Grass

When I was exploring the Maharajah Jungle Trek, I was excited to see that Bakso’s dad was up and exploring. Usually by the time I see him, he’s already napping and lounging in the shade. Please enjoy this short clip of Poppa Tiger enjoying his morning.

Angolan Black-and-White Colobus Monkey Exhibit

Something a bit less magical was waiting in Gorilla Falls. The Angolan Black-and-White Colobus Monkey exhibit has been temporarily closed for refurbishment. I was told that the monkeys are relaxing just out of guest view and are quite content in their hidden home closer to Rafiki’s Planet Watch.

I will miss seeing the cute faces, but I look forward to seeing what becomes of their habitat over the next few months.

Film Crews in the Park

I am used to finding film crews in Magic Kingdom, but I was surprised to see two separate crews working in Disney’s Animal Kingdom this morning. I was told that they were conducting interviews regarding Disney’s conservation mission. WLS TV was filming with one of our Disney World Ambassadors, Shannon Smith-Conrad.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort Lobby Refurbishment Progress

When I finished up my walk in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I made my way over to Disney’s Pop Century Resort to peek at the newly-revealed artwork. The lobby has not been completed yet, but I like where this style is going. I love the retro vibe both Minnie Mouse and Daisy have here. Let me know how you feel about this refurbishment in the comments.

The Boathouse and Piano Rob in Disney Springs

As if the day couldn’t get better, I made my way to Disney Springs to find that the Boathouse has released a massive and adorable duck mug. What goes better with a beverage from the Boathouse than our very own PIANO FREAKING ROB! Y’all, I was not expecting to see a celebrity when I waddled my way into Springs this afternoon, but hot dog, what an afternoon! As always, Piano Rob delivered a stellar performance, even on a roaming piano!

I hope you enjoyed our adventures around Walt Disney World today. I had a lot of good moments, but I think seeing Piano Rob perform will always make my day. The guy is a legend after all.

Let me know in the comments below if you had any particular favorite moment, or if there is anything you would like to see more of in the future.
