When a new dragon shows up on the Isle of Berk, the Vikings think they may have finally met their match. Hiccup and Toothless, with help from Gobber and Astrid, work together to solve the mystery of The Untrainable Dragon. Experience the wonder of dragons onstage and soaring overhead in this spectacular, music-filled, heart-warming live show.

The Untrainable Dragon originally premiered at Universal Studios Beijing, though the show was simply called “Untrainable” in its previous version. The Epic Universe version of the show marks its first time performing in the United States. The show runs approximately 20 minutes in length.

The show includes a scene with a massive puppet version of Toothless flying over the audience. Toothless weighs 1,157 pounds and has a wingspan of nearly 27 feet, according to the official Universal website.

Toothless Puppet Malfunction

In a TikTok posted by @daniia.cv, the large puppet appears to have malfunctioned mid-flight during a recent performance. The video has the added caption, “Think Toothless had a few too many.”

In the clip, Toothless hangs unmoving from the ropes that assist the figure when gliding above the crowds.

Toothless actually appears twice during the show, once in the middle accompanied by Hiccup, and a second time near the finale. It is unclear which segment of the show caused the malfunction, though if it was the first instance, it appears the Hiccup character actor that typically sits atop Toothless during this scene was evacuated from the set.

The user mentioned the issue took place on September 11. There was no extended downtime reported for The Untrainable Dragon, so this was likely just a mechanical issue that was rectified by the next day.
