As part of the Disneyland 70th Celebration, the “it’s a small world” facade is illuminated with the “Tapestry of Happiness” projection show. On its actual anniversary date, July 17, 2025, the show was updated to include the new verse added to “it’s a small world.”
Tapestry of Happiness Updated with new “it’s a small world” verse
The art style of “Tapestry of Happiness” is inspired by Mary Blair, the Disney artist who designed “it’s a small world.” The show serves as a “visual love letter to 70 years of unforgettable Disneyland experiences and celebrates beloved attractions, cherished moments, and the timeless spirit of the Happiest Place on Earth.”
The show now includes the newest verse added to the classic attraction, written by composer Richard M. Sherman in his final contribution to Disney:
Mother earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand in hand
It’s a small world after all.
Sherman, a Disney Legend, passed away on May 25, 2024. He and his brother, Robert B. Sherman (who passed away in 2012), composed music and lyrics for several Disney attractions, including “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” for Carousel of Progress at the 1964 World’s Fair, “The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room” for The Enchanted Tiki Room, and “it’s a small world,” also for the 1964 World’s Fair.
The new verse will debut today, July 17, as part of the Disneyland 70th Celebration. Alongside it is the new Sherman Brothers tribute at Main Street Cinema, titled “So Much That We Share.”
